BHUTAN TOUR 6N/7D
Day1. Arrive Paro and to Thimphu. Start Thimphu sightseeing.
Based on you arrival time, transfer to Thimphu 65km appx 1 hr. Capital city of Bhutan with appx 100,000 inhabitants. Day1 and 2 is reserved for Thimphu sightseeing and will includes the following attractions.

Day3. Thimphu to Punakha and sightseeing. 79 km appx. 2 hrs drive.
Today drive to the lush and green valley of Punakha via the Dochula pass. An hour's drive from Thimphu will take you to this pass (3140 m) where one can have a superb view of the Eastern Himalayas weather permitting. You can walk around the 108 stupas and visit a monastery on the pass.
Later descend to Punakha, the old capital of Bhutan and presently the winter residence of the central monk body.
Visit the Punakha Dzong, located on the confluence of the Pho-Chu (male) river and the Mochu (female) river. If you prefer a mild hike before reaching the valley, visit the Devine Mad Monk’s temple where barren couples come to pray for an offspring. Lama Drukpa Kuenley is one of the most loved saints of Bhutan from the 12th century.
Day4. Punakha Sightseeing and hike to the Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal stupa.
Khamsum Yulley Namgyal stands majestically on a strategic ridge above the Punakha valley. Built over a period of 9 years, Bhutanese craftsmen including carpenters, painters, and sculptors consulted holy scriptures rather than engineering manuals, to construct this 4-storey temple.
It is a splendid example of Bhutan’s fine architectural and artistic traditions and the only one of its kind in the world. Built by Her Majesty the Queen Mother, this temple is dedicated for the well being of the kingdom and the benefit of all sentient beings.
A 30-minute drive from the Punakha Dzong will bring you to the base of the hill on which this temple is built. From the car park, you have to cross a suspension bridge and walk through rice fields before you start climbing a moderately inclined trail surrounded by pine trees. It takes about 1 hour from the car park to hike up to the temple, and 30 minutes to hike down.
Later in the evening experience a visit to a Bhutanese village to witness the local chores carried out in a village. If you prefer dinner can be arranged in a farmhouse with a local farmer.
Day5. Punakha to Paro 144km appx. 3hrs drive.
After an early breakfast drive to Paro valley.
Visit Ta Dzong, built in the 17th century as a watchtower for the Paro Dzong/ Fort. This Dzong was converted into the National museum in 1967 and is filled with antique Thankha paintings, textiles, weapons and armor.
Visit the 8th century Kichu Monastery and the Dzongdrakha Monastery, a monastery that clings on the cliff.
During the evening visit a local farmhouse and you can have dinner at the farmhouse to experience local life and customs.
Day6. Paro Taktsang Mnastery Hiking.
Today hike to Taktsang Goemba/ Monastery, popularly known as 'Tiger's Nest' Monastery. The hike upto the view point will take about 2 hours and from the view point you will enjoy the spectacular view of the monastery clinging to the side of a high cliff. Stop for a refreshment at the Cafe at the view point. Then hike further to the monastery which will take about 1 1/2 hours. It was first built in 1692, around the Taktsang Senge Samdup, a cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for 3 months in the 8th century. It is believed that Guru Padmasambhava flew to this location from Khenpajong, Tibet on the back of a tigress and subdued a demon. He then performed meditation in one of the caves here and emerged in 8 incarnated forms (8 manifestations) and blessed the place. Subsequently, the place came to be known as 'Tiger's Nest'. This is one of the most powerful places in Bhutan emitting an astounding energy.
